The new TMT-200 comes with: 6 gears and sequential
gear change, TPT Power-flow Diff, Lightweight Casting
Design, Internal Oil Pump, Rocker Post Mounts integral
to the casing, Gear Indicator Potentiometer Mounting,
and Suspension and Crash Attenuator Mounting Points.
This gearbox has been designed to suit the requirements
of the latest generation of motor racing cars.
The TMT-200 is the latest addition to Hewland Engineering’s
continuing ‘improvement of the range program’.
Taking design initiative from the hugely successfully
FTR-200 gearbox, the TMT-200 is the next step, in terms
of power and torque capability, having the same capacity
as the Hewland NMT Gearbox, but offering massive weight
savings of over 8.5 Kg’s over the NMT.
The TMT-200 Is the gearbox that the motor sport industry
has been asking for to fill the mid-range capability.
The gearbox is available with built-in semi-automatic
shift actuation cylinders and compressor, saving weight
and space in the car design. This allows designers/constructors
to use the latest technology in gearbox selection rather
than the more cumbersome external adaptation/ afterthoughts
used by many of our competitors. It will also be available
with the more conventional manual selection option.
